Kings River Trust

Kings River Land Trust is a volunteer-based organization, and it is our volunteers that make us a success. Volunteers can help in many ways through committee membership, events, administration and more.

Read our committee description below and contact us if you are interested in learning more.

Become a Committee Member

Our committees provide a wide range of support to the organization, and meetings are typically conducted by conference call. For information on committee opportunities see descriptions below.

Become a Board Member

If you are a committee member and would like to increase your involvement in the organization, we hope you will consider becoming a member of the board. Our board meets every other month on a weekday in Fresno County. If you are interested, let us know by reaching out to your committee chair or emailing Cher Arambel.

Become a Preferred Vendor or Service Provider

Do you have technical expertise you would be willing to share? Our advisors provide a variety of services that support our mission. Occasionally we need the assistance of a professional photographer, videographer, appraiser, CPA, attorney, and caterer. If you have time and expertise you would like to share, let us know by completing the sign-up form. In exchange for promotion of your services among our outlets.

Kings River Land Trust Committees:

Conservation Committee

This committee is responsible for overseeing transactions and stewardship for the organization to ensure compliance with accreditation requirements. Members oversee all aspects of creating and stewarding conservation easements and should have strong skills and knowledge in real estate, biology/site ecology, environmental law, land planning or natural resources. Committee members conduct site inspections of potential easement properties and annual monitoring visits on those properties we have already protected.

Finance Committee

This committee is responsible for the overall direction and control of the finances of the organization. Members should have strong skills and knowledge in accounting, investments, and financial management. The committee regularly reviews financial records and reports to ensure accuracy of the reports and their content, provides an initial review of the annual budget, advises the Board on investment strategies, and develops fiscal policies and procedures to ensure the financial integrity of the organization and our long-term sustainability.

Outreach and Fund Development Committee

This committee is responsible for developing outreach and fund development strategies to build lasting relationships with donors and expand the financial capacity of the organization. Members should be detail oriented, have strong relationships with a wide variety of people within our community, have strong skills and knowledge in fund development, events planning and coordination, communications, marketing & promotions, and donor relations. If you like to plan events, this committee could use your expertise. Our annual Walks in the Country event schedule is the major framework for all our events – be them guided walks, wine tastings, our popular Bob Frisch Memorial Ride and Walk, and others

Event Committee

The Event committee may be the most fun of all. This committee meets for the sole purpose of planning our events and their meeting schedule is determined by the events that are underway. The commitment of time on this committee is by the event and therefore does not require a member to commit longer than they may be able to do so. If you love parties and working on a team, but can only commit yourself for a particular season of time – then this is the committee for you. However, you may remain on this committee throughout the event planning season if your time allows. This committee works in concert and alongside the Outreach and Fund Development Committee.
